Possibilities that didn’t exist before…

This is Bill Rankin, Director of Educational Innovation at ACU.  He’s talking specifically about mobile learning devices in this clip, but in terms of using technology in education I think his perspective and vision are exactly where we need to be moving in theological education, too.

Finding the “magic” tool that will do what we want isn’t the point.  We need to develop a framework within theological education that seeks to use technology to engage the educational experience in order to create possibilities that didn’t exist before.  And this means the teaching and learning relationship will be different than that to which we are accustomed (in the physical classroom).  And that’s OK!
